The Online Photography Program is focused on helping you develop the kind of portfolio that gives you a running start at becoming an established photographer after graduation. While you learn the essential skills necessary to create photographs that attract and dazzle your clientele, you’ll be instructed by practicing industry professionals who will help you achieve your vision of the photographer you want to be!
Throughout the Online Photography Program, you’ll experience the kind of collaboration and feedback from our online instructors that allows you to blossom from an ordinary “picture-taker” into an exceptional photographer–and artist.
Students will develop a personal aesthetic that they apply to visual communication and storytelling.
Cinematography + Video
Students demonstrate cinematic processes through video narratives.
Students critically evaluate photographic images to identify opportunities for enhancement.
Students demonstrate the ability to intentionally apply the characteristics of light to images.
Students apply ethical standards and professional practices in the planning and creation of photographic assignments and business operations.
Marketing + Business Operations
Students demonstrate business, communication and marketing skills while meeting real world-expectations.

The curriculum is designed to not only help students develop the important technical photography skills they need, but also cover the business aspects of photography. A photographer must be equipped with the right tools. This doesn’t necessarily mean equipment. RMCAD’s online photography program prepares students by teaching photography fundamentals such as:
