Explore Colorado is an activities package filled with fun, friends and fabulous finds just for RMCAD students in their first semester. Whether you’ve lived in Colorado your entire life, or are a new resident of our incredible state, the Explore Colorado series will open your eyes and mind to fun, new activities just a short distance from campus.

6:00pm-8:00pm | Meow Wolf Convergence Station

“Meow Wolf’s third permanent exhibition is open in Denver, CO. Convergence Station is unforgettable, transformational, and not to be missed. Discover immersive psychedelic, mind-bending art and an underlying rich narrative as you take a journey of discovery into a surreal, science-fictional epic.”

“Back by popular demand, this spooky and blood-curdling drama makes a dynamic return to the stage. Based on Bram Stoker’s classic gothic horror story with choreography by Michael Pink, Dracula features creative sets and special effects along with an original score performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra.”

5:45pm – 10:30pm | Stanley Hotel, Estes Park

Visit the famous Stanley Hotel, the inspiration for Steven King’s novel The Shining. The Stanley Night Tour is the perfect way to experience the hotel’s architecture, folklore, and pop culture. Explore Estes Park by immersing yourself in the rich history of this unique mountain town…after dark!

Doors 6pm | Ball Arena

An all-time favorite of Colorado fans. Watch the Colorado Avalanche battle it out against one of their rival teams during the start of the National Hockey League. This is an entertaining game for anyone, not just sports fanatics. Enjoy food, drinks, and the Ball Arena, which is home to the Denver Nuggets, the Colorado Mammoth, and tons of concerts by big name acts.

7am-6pm | Loveland Ski Area

This is one of RMCAD’s favorite traditions. Join us for a day on the slopes at one of Colorado’s most loved mountains, Loveland Ski Area. This is a low-key resort, with deep snow, and a friendly atmosphere, so you will feel right at home. Program includes lift tickets and lunch. Students must bring their own gear. Rentals are available at the mountain.

Terms and Conditions

The program includes tickets and admission for all events and a meal or snack at each event. Students must pay in full for all six events by Wednesday, August 31st, 2022, or can register for individual events up to one day prior to each event. Payment and registration may be completed at www.rmcad.edu/explorecolorado. Students can also make payments over the phone by calling the Student Accounts Office on (303) 225-8574 ext. 2857, or by dropping off a check. 

Due to the nature of this program, RMCAD is unable to refund any of the program fees after Wednesday, August 31st, 2022. Paid participants who are unable to attend any or all of the events may transfer their registration to another RMCAD student. RMCAD will not facilitate exchange or transfer of payment in these cases. In such circumstances, the Office of Student Life must be notified of the change in writing. 

RMCAD reserves the right to alter this program and substitute comparable activities if circumstances exist, which merit modifications to the set schedule of events. Explore Colorado is subject to cancellation based on a minimum enrollment. Participants must sign the college’s Field Trip Release Form before participating in any program activities.
