RMCAD Faculty

James Sherman is a native of Denver, CO., and has lived in Colorado for most of his life, except for 2004-2008 when he and his family lived outside of Seattle, WA. He is an education professional with 30 years of experience, with both Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in History from Colorado State University, and post grad work in Classics at the University of Colorado. He also studied Fine Arts in Florence, Italy.
His passions include but are not limited to: history, art history, architecture, global culture, and the Colorado Avalanche. James has a deep “tool belt,” having taught everything from Latin to wilderness experiences. James is an eight-time grant winner, and has participated in several unique projects, including the reconstruction and sea trials of an Athenian trireme (ancient Greek warship), and the first archaeological survey of the massive pre-Inca complex at Chankillo, Peru. An avid traveler, some of his favorite places include Longs Peak, CO, the UK, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Peru, and the Greater and Lesser Antilles.
