Originally from Southern California, Katy Betz taught at Ringling College of Art and Design for almost 10 years before joining RMCAD as Head of Illustration. She has a BFA in Illustration from Laguna College of Art and Design, and an MFA in Art and Design from California State University, Fullerton. She has worked as a children’s book illustrator, gallery painter, and interpretive designer for over 15 years. In addition to being an educator and illustrator, she is an outdoors enthusiast, self-proclaimed naturalist, and bibliophile with a severe case of wanderlust.
